Looking for your next Hoboken adventure with some friends? It’s a doozy…also know as the City Challenge. The mission of City Challenge is to enable you to have the most exciting day of your life…all while sweating and working out with friends. Similar to the Tough Mudder or the Spartan, the City Challenge is filled with intense obstacles to push your physical and mental limits — all while working with a team.

The City Challenge Obstacle Race will take place on October 5, 2013 IN Hoboken! It consists of a 4 mile course filled with over 15 obstacles–including obstacles such as walls to get over, water jugs to carry up stairs, 20 lb rocks to carry in sand, ropes to climb, monkey bars, and so many more. They are all constructed by a crew of licensed contractors and engineers, and (GET EXCITED), there will be no water, mud, electrocution, or fire at the race (besides water to drink, of course)…thank goodness.
A few FYIs:
- – The City Challenge Race limits each wave of runners to 200 racers to avoid overcrowding
- – Participants can walk the course, there is no time limit to finish the race
- – You will not be forced to participate in anything you do not feel comfortable with. The City Challenge encourages all participants to compete at their comfort level
- – Additional water and other snacks will be available at the Athlete Refreshments tent near the finish line.
- – Each Challenger will receive a chip at sack pack pick-up. The chip has a identification number that corresponds to each Challenger. When participants cross the electronic equipment at the start and finish line, the time is automatically recorded.
The best part? It’s a race for a cause: City Challenge is raising money for Susan G Komen for the Cure foundation. Participants can make donations during registration, and City Challenge will also be making a contribution to Susan G Komen for the cure North Jersey Chapter.
