You know your Friday night is serious when Ke$ha becomes a verb. Some friends and I got together for a Pumpkin Pinterest Party this weekend. Yes we kind of made that title up, but I must say it was such a blast. When planning a PPP, you definitely need certain ingredients to make it just right. Luckily, having been through the process — I’m gathering a list of 10 essentials for the party so you can plan it with ease:
1. Pinterest Inspiration.
You’ve gotta pin pumpkin decor and pumpkin recipes to get yourself ready for the situation. From left to right: A ranch-filled pumpkin dip bowl, pumpkin dip with a mexican flair, spinach greek yogurt dip, and that is just the tip of the iceberg… most found on pinterest. {PS: are you following HG on Pinterest?}
2. Pumpkin Decor.
Who knew that besides your normal fall foliage bouquet, you could get a pumpkin tree from Trader Joe’s? And orange and black straws from TJMaxx? Mmmmhhhm. That’s right. Edgewater, NJ—coming to the rescue.
3. Animals in Costumes.
Pierre looks thrilled; enough said.
4. A Studded Cocktail Shaker.
Ya know, because that’s what every party needs.
5. Pumpkin Pie Cake Pops from the Hudson Cakery.
These cake pops from The Hudson Cakery are like crack. Have you entered their HG giveaway yet?
6. Glitter.
In the words of the great Ke$ha,
7. Everything Pumpkin from Trader Joe’s.
These were Pumpkin Macarons, but we also had mini pumpkin pies & pumpkin cheese cake…so many other pumpkin-flavored treats.
8. Masks.
Selfies totally acceptable.
9. A Tarp. And 1 Bazillion Craft Supplies.
Glitter – paint – tape – glue guns…it’s gonna get messy.
10. Alcohol.
For obvious reasons. Thanks for the pumpkin decals, Martha Stewart. Literally. Worst case scenario for the non-artistic? Get drunk and throw some glitter on a pumpkin. Which is what most of us did.

The remains — I’ll be finding glitter til next Halloween, that’s for sure.
Totally worth it — and the best part? There’s still time left in October to throw your own #pumpkinpinterestparty!
